Children of Classes III to V from Dhruv House presented an assembly on 'Pongal'
September 11, 2024
Embracing the traditions, spreading love, and creating unforgettable memories. On 11th September 2024 children of Classes III to V from Dhruv House at SPSRN ferried us to Tamil Nadu, where the vibrant spirit of Pongal was brought to life through a captivating skit. Their performance highlighted the deep cultural richness and values of the festival. Pongal, a major Tamil Nadu festival, is thanksgiving to the Sun God, Surya for a bountiful harvest. It marks the end of the winter solstice and the sun’s northward journey, also known as Uttarayan. Beyond agricultural success, Pongal symbolises prosperity, unity, gratitude, and harmony between humans and nature. The students of Red House beautifully depicted these timeless values, inspiring all with the euphoria of tradition.
